Twenty-four hours after Donald Trump announces that he would deploy National Guard troops to Washington DC to combat a so-called violent crime wave, confusion over who is in charge of the mess – and DC’s Metropolitan Police – is rampant.
For her part, DC mayor Muriel Bowser has hardened her stance on Trump’s “authoritarian” deployment of the Guard.
Let’s not forget that the Commander-in-Cheat proclaimed his January 6, 2021 rioters “very special” after failing to deploy the National Guard to the Capitol and claiming that Nancy Pelosi would have been in charge of that order (not true, of course). And it comes as no surprise that the debut of Trump’s “Capitol Crackdown” included Fox News stars present and past – including, of course, Jeanine “Drunk On Air Coast-to-Coast” Pirro.
But it comes as somewhat of a surprise that The New York Times committed some journalism and fact-checked Sundowning Donnie Felon’s misstatement of crime stats in DC.
Meanwhile, the world is still waiting for release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
